No Skateboarding In Asheville
Crime Scene : Angle 2 (George’s attempted escape route)

I’m probably not the first to say it, but something has to change with Asheville, NC and their law in Sec. 19-6…and I’m not talking about NC’s victory over Duke 19-6.

Sec. 19-6. Use of skateboards, roller skates, coasters or toy vehicles on roadways.
No person upon a skateboard, roller skates or riding in or by means of any coaster, toy vehicle or similar device shall go upon any roadway, except while crossing a street on a crosswalk and except upon streets set aside as play streets when and as authorized by this chapter.
(Code 1965, 28-7)

Sec. 19-7. Use of skateboards, roller skates or coasters on sidewalks. No person shall engage in roller coasting, skate-boarding or roller skating on any sidewalk in a business district.
(Code 1965, 28-7.1)

For a city known for its progressive thinking, they sure are giving themselves a bad name for not allowing alternative modes of transportation.

Note: This is a zero tolerance policy…the out-of-town excuse will not work…be expected to visit Asheville court on three separate days and do 15 hours of community service for the city you used to love to skate.

Note #2: Push Skateshop is always keeping it real. They have our boards on deck.
